Amanda Bossard was just out high school when she began her marine biology studies at Alaska Pacific University in Anchorage. Bossard began her career in the commercial seafood industry at the age of 1999, after she began working as a crew member on the F/V Sunset 65' halibut schooner turned to salmon tender with Murat Aritan. He has been who has been a commercial fisherman since 1993. Bossard has married Aritan. The couple has united and claim the respective businesses. They believe in conservative, sustainable management of sustainable seafood resources. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood retailer, was founded in the year 2007 by Bella Bossard (age 3), Andre Bossard (1 year old) and Bossard's mother. Bossard had returned to Philadelphia following the birth of two children. In 2007, Bossard mother to two kids Bella age 3 and Andre 1. She returned to Philadelphia after a trip from Canada, opened Otolith as a direct-market wholesale seafood distributor. Bossard and their son Andre and daughter Isabella are scheduled to return back to Southeast Alaska every summer as deckhands for the harvest of wild salmon. For two months, Bossard and her daughter Isabella use hooks & lines to fish for their target salmon. Aritan will then sell their fish to local processors.
